Monthly Operating Report.
My team has to complete the MOR by the second week of the month. Which is.. this week. Today was a very hectic day. 7 sets of MOR need to be prepared by 5pm because Dennis requested so. I received the order to start printing at 10.30am. but at that time, I didn't know that there's a curfew for the report, so I print super slowly. After zuhur prayer, I began printing again until Sophia told me that the reports need to be ready at 5!! I looked at my watch and its already 3.30pm! and there's still a lot more to print! Both Sophia and Muhaimi joined forces to print together. Muhaimi checked the reports that I have printed and Sophia printed out attachments that I had left out. So at 5pm sharp, all 7 reports are filed up and ready to be sent out to the directors and managers.
As I type this, the clock is 6.12pm. I can't go home yet because Muhaimi wants to discuss with me about the minutes of meetings that I have prepared 2 days ago. I had never done this type of minute report before. And to be honest, I don't really understand what the meeting is all about. It's called BLG Review Meeting. During the meeting, there was a representative from Hyundai, SDAC-Ford and Land Rover each and the internal people were Mr Dennis, Hun Loong, Muhaimi and me. The meeting started when Mr Dennis raised out the issue on Land Rover's 2nd warehouse.
Then Muhaimi began with his presentation. All I think I understand is that, there is a kind of a partnership in between BLG and the entities. It's a win-win situation. The entities must act in a way to ensure that BLG will succeed, because the success of each entities are measured by the success of BLG. The BLG project started in Feb 2011. Problems by problems were issued in the meeting based on the guideline on Muhaimi's presentation. The first issue was on KPI. The KPI is measured on the time taken for unstuffing the container from the port until it reaches the customer. BLG came out with an average KPI of 3days.

When I was writing my blog, Muhaimi called me to discuss on the minute. Now I understood about BLG!! Let me explain to you! BLG is a company from Germany which specializes in keeping a warehouse (mcm storekeeper). They have the expertise and the best technology/system in recording the inflow and outflow of the parts. Hyundai, Ford and Land Rover inventories were previously managed by Hyundai. However, managing these multiple warehouses seems complicated when the physical stocks and in the system does not tally due to inproper management. And thats when the three motor companies decided to outsource a storekeeper to manage their warehouse. BLG contracted with the 3 companies whereby if BLG manage to make savings, the savings must be shared accordingly and if they incurred extra costs, the cost shall be bourne by the BLG itself.
The BLG project started in early 2011(January). The purpose of this meeting was to review on what BLG have done to the 3 companies whether it brings more good or bad. This meeting also recaps on any problems that the 3 companies faced.
Err..I don't feel its necessary to write every single thing that happened in the meeting. Well, I suppose if I write more about it, you will fall asleep. haha.
And......I went home from the office at 8pm!
First time staying back. Hebat tak?
