Practical: HeiTech Padu Berhad

It's a requirement for every accounting student to experience practical training for 6 months period. My first options was to go into the Big 4 firms. I applied to PWC and KPMG. However PWC rejected me without any further justifications while KPMG took ages to process my application. So I opted for the commercial company. PM Rashid adviced me to join HeiTech Padu Berhad.
And I did.

I had never regretted working in HeiTech. They kept a family-like environment where they make you feel like home. The practical students where assigned under the Finance Manager, Puan Sulaikah Suribot. She allocated us to different superiors and the job scopes were in rotation basis. Along the way, I developed some new friends. I became closer to Aqilah Zakaria (Kayla), Marjan (Mj) and Yaya. These are the three girls I spent my days with. We would go to the toilet, lunch and prayer together. All three girls are of different characters but they are funny in their own kind of ways. Kayla is the type of person who is funny, understanding and firm. Marjan on the other hand is the Queen of all laughter. She managed to crack some jokes on anything. It was indeed very very fun. Yaya is the one who has the strong attitude. She is very serious but very fun at the same time and she can give 100% focus on her works.

Oh my, I don't have yaya's picture!

HeiTech's working environment is very pleasant and comfy. I love the fact that the finance team always held a makan-makan session. Almost every week we'll have sponsored foods on the counter. and even better, sometimes we decided on the menu and brought potluck instead. There was once where we decided to have laksa and I was in charge with the cili padi. I thought I brought enough cili padi but instead, it was gone only after 2 hours. So I asked kak Wan to buy more cili padi at the market. hahaha. Good old days!

There was one time the finance team held a bowling tournament together with the auditors. I won  a TM stroller bag from the lucky draw contest. haha. My team was the last team.

Just Awesome =')

Staying in HeiTech for 6 months has taught me a lot. We had fun, laughter, sadness, frustration, happiness, conflict and stress together that I will never forget in my whole entire life.
InsyaAllah.

This three apom polka-dots held a different story. If you know what I mean ='D

Interview experience: Branded Blazer & AEON

There was a career attack organized by UITM in early April. Being a fresh graduate who was actively looking for jobs, I actually went there trying a few shots of interviews.

Branded Blazer- Accounts Executive
Branded Blazer is a business selling tailored blazers. Their main revenue comes from schools where they provide school chidren with blazered uniform eg; prefects and librarian. Apart from that, they also provide blazers for individuals and companies. Their premise is located at section 7 Shah Alam. Yes, very near to my house indeed. That's why I am very keen to apply. The interview session went very well. They asked questions about myself, my achievements, and they asked me to explain a bit about accounting.

A week elapsed and I got an email and a sms from them saying that I am one of the shortlisted candidate for a second round of interview. The interview will be held on a Saturday and the date cannot be changed. Unluckily for me, I had reserved the date to go to "Kursus Kahwin", which is also cannot be postponed! There's nothing else that I can do but to let the second interview slip through my fingers.

AEON-Management Trainee
I am very very very interested to join in AEON. The interviewer guy was very good looking! but hey, that was not the reason why I want to join AEON! haha. I wanted to join them because they will allocate the trainees to Aeon's branches that are near to our homes, and their work scope seems very interesting. Some of the questions he asked me was about leadership and my proudest achievement. Sadly, there was no callback from them. I suppose the competition out there was so tough.

Interview experience: BORNEO TECHNICAL SDN BHD

My final exam was in January 2012 and the result was published in late February. Thus, my job hunting began in March. As usual, I used a lot of help from the Jobstreet. I was a bit choosy when it comes to work place location. I tend to apply jobs in companies that are very very very near to my house and all the way to Bandar Baru Bangi. My main concern is to avoid working in the middle of KL. My experience facing the poor traffic going back and forth to Ernst and Young was enough to make me suffer. I mean, come onnnn, my tank can be half empty after only 2 days driving to work. arghhh. and my full tank consumption cost me RM60. too much expenses spent on the heavy traffic. Its not worth it!

Well, one of the company that I applied to is BORNEO TECHNICAL SDN BHD which is only located in Shah Alam Glenmarie! dekat jeeee dgn rumah. The position was as an Account Assistant. It was not a permanent position but only a 3 month temporary position. I was aware of this information and was only planning to go for the interview to gain experience. ehehehe. The interview was on 2nd of April. My first real job interview yeahh semangat!! During the interview, the account executive, Rachel, repeatedly asking me whether I really want to have this job because she said the job is ridiculously too simple for me to handle and my academic background definitely can get me a better position. so I started to feel that better i come clean aje lah dgn Rachel ni. So I told her yg I mmg nak carik a permanent job and if she feels that I'm not suitable for this position then I shall withdraw my application. She told me that of course she wanted to have me and she actually offered me the job immediately. But for my career development, she said that I should find another job elsewhere. And so, the interview ended. I rejected her offer and recommended the position to a very good friend of mine because coincidently, she was looking for a temporary job before starting her ACCA in July. yey!!
