Today wasn't a very good day for me.
I got summoned by a police for talking on a cellphone while driving without "alat bebas tangan". One thing I'm telling you, whenever I am driving, I will put my handphone stuck at the side of my tudung. Which means it works as the same as any bluetooth device or handsfree, or in malay "alat bebas tangan". During the arrest, both my hands were on the steering and both my eyes are on the road. I am completely focus. Until suddenly a policeman overtook me and forced me to stop by the roadside. While I was driving to the side, the policeman thought I was running away and he actually cornered me!
When I opened my window, he quickly scolded me for running away! Seriously mr policeman, I wasn't running away, I was stopping my car at a better roadside so that you and I wont be hit by other cars! You stopped me at a roundabout for GOD sake!!! Kau nak aku berenti kat tgh2 tu ke? and cause a major traffic jam during peak hours like that?? FYI, I am not stupid.
To be honest, when the policeman arrested me, I immediately realised that it was my fault because I was talking on the phone while driving. But when he showed such manner to me, I lost respect on him. No matter how old he is or what designation he has, he doesn't have the right to treat me like I made a major crime. What I did was driving with my phone on my ear and my hands on the wheels. It is the same as using handsfree device!! In Malaysia, the road rules is, we cannot handle handphones WITHOUT any handsfree device. If you have the device, feel free to use your phone while driving. Honestly, how stupid to summon someone for talking on the phone while driving, WITHOUT HELDING THE PHONE.
Sometimes, when police has the power and authority, they started to use them blindly and arrogantly. I was so shocked when the policeman accused me of running away. Seriously you don't have to scold me. I later explained to him that I was trying to get to a clear roadside that is safe to stop. Sumpah rasa nak lempang aje polis ni marah2. Nak saman please saman professionally. Then he asked for my ic and driving license. I gave them to him without realising that I handed him the old license (expired). Arrogantly he announced "LESEN CIK SUDAH TAMAT TEMPOHNYA". I was like hoi, aku dah renew 4 minggu lepas. Then I realised it was my bad. So I handed him the new one. To my surprise, he looked dissapointed that I have the new license with me, because I got the feeling that he was about to feel happy to summon me for two reasons: 1)driving while talking with the handphone 2) driving without a re-newed license. I don't really understand police in Malaysia. They seem to be excited to catch people doing crime rather than preventing crime. Do you agree?
To my most dissapointment, the police did not summon the driver next to my car for driving while talking with a handsfree (just like me), and the police did not stop to help the accident that had just happened in front of us.
And another note Mr Policeman, my car is not INSPIRA.
Look clearly and don't belasah je what type of car I'm driving.
I'm working with cars, don't play fool with my car.
